Two websites in one week!
Finally after months of waiting I am officially a designer for Origami Owl! Hoot hoot! I love everything about this company so far. They have a beautiful product line and they, wait! I mean WE have a fantastic corporate culture already. This is one of the fastest growing sales companies and I am thrilled to be able to offer you a way to tell your story in jewelry.

I got so inspired that I decided to go ahead and move forward with my Etsy store as well! Two websites in one week! The fees at ebay are pretty high in comparison to Etsy but they get a lot more traffic. That also means a lot more competition! I'm learning a little more every day so I don't have a high expectation of sales from Etsy until I figure out how to properly tag and promote my wares. That said, who knows? If you want to check out my die cuts or pre made mini albums for sale I will probably be listing them on Etsy until I take the final big step and add a shopping cart to my website.

More to come as I learn how to maximize this crazy Internet!

Success, Failure and Learning to Cope
Every day is a learning experience for me as I try to launch two businesses, worry about mom and mother-in-law's care, juggle retirement with "rewirement". I'm trying to figure out systems and processes to manage an eclectic life, and just realized that being eclectic means learning coping mechanisms!
On the home front, both mom's have secured daily caregivers successfully. First learning--it is very expensive to take care of the elderly, both financially and emotionally. Be prepared for the inevitable--either buy long term care insurance or create revenue streams that will produce enough income to cover the care. Do yourself a favor and start exploring NOW!

On the business front, I've enjoyed success with the folks who have taken my advice and developed systems within their offices to grow and prosper. When it comes to business, there is NOTHING eclectic about me. I have a system, and it's a good one! Email me if you need to be a better leader of your small business.

My hobby business is now in revenue! Ebay has been good to me, but I'm slowly but surely working on my website and product line for papercrafting supplies. Orders have been placed and materials are arriving daily. Can't wait to get the shopping cart installed on EllenRika.com! For now, if you want to place an order for Scor-tape, cards, tags, or mini-albums just send me an email and I'll contact you directly to customize your order.

While nothing is perfect, I've found two mentors that have kept me positive and focused each day. If you haven't already, be sure to "Like" Bob Proctor and Tony Robbins on Facebook. Their daily posts are uplifting, enlightening and surely will make you snap out of it! Life is good if you let it be!

Fly By July
Wow, what a fast month. July flew by with a whole new set of Eclectic activities.
My Consulting business is starting to take off. I have found pretty steady work consulting with several clients who want to grow their businesses. They are in the same business, yet all have different challenges and aspirations. Very fun for me to watch them get inspired and excited about their opportunities. I am getting a ton of my own inspiration from www.entreprenuer.com Check them out if you are independent and looking for ways to build your own business.
Meanwhile, on the home front I am now spending more of my time caregiving for my mom and mother-in-law. Both of them are unable to drive, have mobility issues, and are realizing that they are having to rely on family to get through their days. It's a challenge, but I realize that the Lord probably decided to force me into early retirement so I can be available to help them. I've found it very helpful to rely on www.intentionalcaregiver.com where Shelly Webb gives great advice and links to resources to help people like me. I never expected to be in this position in a million years, so it's helpful to have support from pros.
Next thing that went well is my little Ebay startup. I really believe retail is something I want to do so I got my resale license, ordered up some scrapbook supplies, and voila, I was in business. A small little startup budget got me going, and I have sold just about everything I listed that was new. I also started helping out my sister's sister-in-law by listing some of her vintage stuff. Low and behold, I'm in the green! Now, if we could add a few zeros to that monthly revenue stream.
With all this going on, my papercrafting is limited to just a few diecuts going on to Ebay and a few mini-albums in progress. The orders I've received have depleted my supply, so I'm going to have to get crackin; My goal for August will be to make a few for myself to give as Christmas Gifts. Anyway, if you want a custom designed mini-album, don't forget to check out my website at www.ellenrika.com
Believe it or not, that isn't enough to keep me busy. I'm waiting to become a designer for a hot new jewelry company, but I can't post about it until I'm official. Just suffice it to say that I am looking to purchase some cute OWL decorations to hang LOCKETS. Yep, party sales. Next on my list of things to try.
Have a happy August, in case I don't get back here to post. Too busy being Eclectic Every Day!
